The Inspiration for this
piece came from a desire to
showcase these Amethyst
chips to their best
advantage. The holes
drilled in these pieces would
have required me to use
them sideways. If I did that
the beauty if each individual
piece would be lost. What I
started to do was create a
necklace that simply
showcased the beauty of
the chips. When it took on a
life of its own, the finished
piece was much more
beautiful than the piece
envisioned at the beginning.
The portion of this piece that goes around the neck like a choker was created using the                                    weave. Which creates a
beautiful diamond pattern. As I worked on this piece, it occurred to me that this weave would make a beautiful bracelet. This was when
the seed for creating bracelets was planted. The Amethyst chips were so much fun to create. Some of them have beaded hangers and
some wire, the original plan was to add
simple hangers but as I played with them they became more and more elaborate. Many, many
happy hours were spent making them and I just let the Muse lead me and I followed. Since I'd never created anything with this type of
netting before, it was a challenge to find the right balance to make to all even. After the meeting the challenge of learning how and
creating the netting to hang the embellished chips, I was ready to go back to the familiar,Beaded Embroidery. It was used on the rest of
the choker portion. This composition features a Sterling Silver extender clasp which is adjustable from 16in. to 20.  I used Sterling
Silver beads,  Amethyst beads, Citrine chips, fresh water pearls, Czech fire-polished, pressed glass and seed beads, as well. This
piece was created using doubled Nymo beading thread.
