Victorian Garden Series
Marquerida- Is a
character in book.
She is part of a
Royal Family and I
imagined her wearing
this piece to the Late
Harvest Ball.  In the
midst of reading the
story I envisioned this
necklace. She was
the first piece in my
Victorian Garden
Series piece. She
was a very
unconventional
person.
Which is one of the reasons I chose to position the stone this way. I started by gluing the stone to a piece of Lacy's Stiff
Stuff It is a wonderful product for this type of embroidery. The bezel is stitched in such a way that the colors continue the
irregularity of the stone. The Bezel for the center was created  first using the Peyote Stitch, created the bases using
and attached the bases to the center. To add stability, very long threads were used to attach the center
to the bases and then used to start the Beaded Embroidery. I hate knots, so, I try to use as few as possible.  I'm not sure
what this stone is, I was so taken with it when I bought it I didn't hear what the man said it was, Sorry. The rest of this piece
includes Swarovski Crystals, Czech pressed glass and seed beads. Power-Pro beading thread was used (10lb.-
embellishment, 20lb.- bases). This piece features a extender clasp which allows it to be adjustable from 16in. to 22in. Dyane
