The pieces in this collection were born out of frustration.
One evening I was getting ready for the Symphony and couldn't find a necklace to
compliment the neckline of my dress. I became frustrated, turned to my date, who was
wondering why this mattered because he was hungry, and said "if I had a really nice pair of
earrings this would be easier"! So, the next day I started designing and creating these
earrings. That is one of the reasons why this collection is called the "Symphony Series.
The other is because I used names of composers for the names of the styles in this
collection.
There are two styles in this collection, Vivaldi and Chopin. All the pieces of this
collection were embellished using Beaded Embroidery. Each earring is created as an
individual piece so the earrings in each pair is a different length. Some of my customers
wear just one and a regular earring in the other ear!
All of these earrings are finished by adding a post using a gap-filling epoxy and a piece of
leather is glued on top of that to protect the skin on your ear.
It takes 3-5 hours to create these earring and all of them come with a card I create using my
other addiction, Rubber Stamping.

The Chopin style starts with a Peyote stitched triangle and then is
embellished using the Beaded Embroidery technique.

| I love nature and love creating wearable Art that celebrates its beauty. I call this collection "Victorian Vines". I have always been fascinated by Country Cottages covered with vines. I have re-created that look with this collection. The technique I used to create these pieces is called a " Branch Fringe". They look as if they defy gravity as they reach for the sun. Just like the collection above, I create each earring to be an individual Art piece. That means, one earring will be longer than the other. The long one is about 3in. and the other is about 2 in. |
The Vivaldi style starts out with a base created using the Victorian Netting.
because this base looks like a garden trellis, I called it Vivaldi. After creating
