The inspiration for this piece came from these beautiful Azure blue Millifiori Beads created in Milan, Italy. They make me wish I were on a beach with water this color and my toes in the white sand. The Focal Bead for this necklace was created as a direct result of taking the one and ONLY beading class I've taken in 12 years of designing and creating Jewelry. I learned the Seed Bead weaving technique called Circular Netting and used it to create this beautiful focal bead and the three other beads used in the necklace. I changed techniques for the embellishment closest to the Focal Bead. I didn't want to use the same technique so close together. This Seed Bead weaving technique is called Spiral Weave Featured Techniques: Spiral Weave, Circular Netting Composition: Sterling Silver beads with inlaid with Venetian glass, Millifiori Glass beads, Swarovski Crystals, Fresh Water Pearls, Czech Pressed Glass and seed beads. The weaving on this necklace was done with Power-Pro beading thread. The necklace is strung on Soft Touch beading wire. Necklace length is adjustable from 16in. to 20in. because I added a Sterling Silver extender clasp. |
