Angela
The story of Angela
began with this piece
of Dichroic glass I
purchased from my
friend Karen Varela.
(Karen Nan Designs)
She and I were both
very surprised by my
desire to buy it. I don't
usually work with such
intense colors. I find
them overwhelming.
But, the minute I saw it
I also had a vision of
this piece. That's how
I work, following
pictures in my head.
I wanted a Free-form Peyote base but needed to learn the technique first. Starting with the Beaded Bezel for my Focal Bead, I  played
around with the technique, until I was happy with the results. Once the base was finished, it was smooth sailing with Beaded Embroidery.
The right side is designed to be adjustable, this adds versatility and allows the finished piece to be worn by anyone. This piece is named
"Angela" because I am a big fan of Angela Landsbury, she seems like someone who would wear something as colorful and playful as
this. The extender clasp was designed by Bill Rerich of Pegasus Imports. The embellishment includes Karen's Bead, Venetian
lamp-work beads, Sworovski Crystals, Czech pressed glass and
lots of seed beads. Dyane
